Earlier this month one of my friends decided to start up a "Biggest Loser" type challenge on Facebook. I got a couple of my friends, and even my Aunt to join and the journey began. I am so very very very happy to say I have hit my first goal (#33) and lost my first five pounds!!!!
(this terrifying and horrendously disgusting picture is from here***.)The only bummer about this loss is that I really can't tell where it has come from. Don't get me wrong, I'm SO excited but I want to see results....lots of them! My body looks the same to me; I know it will take time. I'm just impatient.
It hasn't been too hard, honestly. I signed back up for WeightWatchers.com - and I've identified my biggest problem areas
- Portion Size
- Eating out far too often
- Drinking Soda
- Snacking at work
I have come across some great recipes that I will be posting here. Not every recipe is a WW recipe, a lot of them I have modified to fit into my "points" system. I feel so much better knowing that SH and I are eating more healthy. The thing is we've been eating the same foods over and over...so I've been in kind of a food rut - getting bored with the foods I have been making.
I'm going to be doing some recipe searching over the next week or so. Today I found this great blog (Skinny CEO)and she had a recipe for a Turkey Brie Apple Honey Dijon Sandwich. I cannot wait to try it (minus the Dijon and with Boar's Head turkey). I love that she uses the Arnold's Sandwich rounds. They have been a life saver for me. They are so flavorful and soft - and I can buy them at BJ's in huge packages and freeze what I'm not using. You should definitely try them.
What do you do to stay healthy (especially if you don't have time/money to go to a gym and/or can't run....)? What are your favorite healthy recipes?
